We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Legal Counsel to join our Mondelez team in Eurasia. The role will play a crucial role in providing legal advice and support across multiple countries where our business operates. This position requires a thorough understanding of FMCG regulations, commercial contracts, marketing activities, knowledge of intellectual property and antitrust (competition law) requirements, corporate governance, and international business practices.

How you will contribute

Provide timely and accurate legal advice on a wide range of matters pertaining to business operations including but not limited to regulatory compliance, commercial contracts, intellectual property, and consumer protection laws;

Analyze legal risks and propose appropriate strategies to mitigate such risks while supporting business objectives;

Draft, review, and negotiate various commercial agreements including supplier contracts, distribution agreements, marketing agreements, and licensing agreements;

Ensure compliance with relevant laws and internal policies in all contractual arrangements;

Monitor and stay updated on regulatory developments affecting the industry in each country of operation;

Develop and implement compliance programs to ensure adherence to applicable laws and regulations;

Support corporate governance initiatives by advising on corporate structure, governance best practices, and regulatory requirements;

Assist in drafting corporate governance documents and ensuring compliance with corporate laws;

Collaborate with external counsel as needed to effectively resolve disputes in a timely and cost-effective manner;

Conduct training sessions for business teams on legal compliance matters and risk management strategies;

Foster a culture of legal awareness and compliance within the organization;

Build and maintain effective relationships with internal stakeholders including senior management, business units, and cross-functional teams;

Liaise with external stakeholders such as government authorities, regulatory bodies, and legal advisors.

What you will bring

A desire to drive your future and accelerate your career with experience and knowledge in:

Bachelor's degree in Law;

Admitted to practice law in at least one jurisdiction (preferable Kazakhstan); multi-jurisdictional admission is advantageous;

Minimum of 6 years of relevant legal experience, preferably in the FMCG industry or related sectors;

Strong knowledge of FMCG regulations, commercial law, antitrust (competition), contract law, and corporate governance principles;

Experience in managing legal matters across multiple countries is highly desirable;

Excellent analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills;

Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment;

Fluency in English language.
