Associate / Process Engineer

Wood (trading locally as WOOD KSS LLP) is currently looking for an Associate Process Engineer (for KZ Passport holders) to join our team in Atyrau, Kazakhstan.
Responsibilities- Assist Lead/Senior Process Engineer in Conceptual studies / Basic design/ Front End Engineering Design (FEED) and Detailed Design (DD) phase of the projects for any project related to process plants such as oil & gas production, refinery / petrochemical units, ammonia, ethylene, mineral processing, specialty chemicals, refined products, pipeline, water treatment etc.
- Carry out various engineering activities as part of the above, under guidance from Process Engineer / Sr. Process Engineer / Lead Process Engineer
- Development of process simulation models for the facility to be designed / upgraded and advanced controls/process optimization – Should be familiar with simulators like HYSYS, PIPEFLOW / PIPEPHASE / PIPESIM, FLARENET
- Development of Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs) and finalisation of heat and material balance
- Development of Piping and Instrument Diagrams (P&IDs),
- Finalizing system design parameters / carry out necessary calculations
- Specifying equipment / systems such as heat exchangers, vessels, pumps, reactors etc.
- Specifying instruments such as relief valve, control valve, gauges and transmitters etc.
- Prepare Cause & Effect Diagrams, SAFE Charts, Line Lists, Tie-in Schedules
- Write Design Philosophies / Operating / Commissioning Guidelines / manuals
- Participate in safety reviews like HAZOP, SIL
- Perform all conventional design work of the functional area under general supervision
- Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering
- Requires Basic knowledge / understanding of Chemical Engineering topics
- Any Process Design related experience (mainly in oil & gas industry) will be an advantage
