• Develop and manage comprehensive 3D piping models using AutoCAD Plant 3D, ensuring compliance with project specifications and design standards.
• Create and modify piping layouts, equipment arrangements, and support structures within the 3D model environment.
• Generate and manage intelligent piping models with correct specifications, tagging, line numbers, and component data.
• Develop efficient and maintainable piping layouts considering:
- Accessibility for operation and maintenance
- Pipe support placement
- Safety clearances and routing best practices
• Ensure accurate and safe placement of equipment, nozzles, valves, and fittings in relation to structural, electrical, and instrumentation disciplines.
• Extract and produce piping isometrics with automated and manual annotations, ensuring correct dimensioning, BOM, and welding details.
• Develop GA (General Arrangement) drawings, plot plans, ISOs and section drawings as required for construction and review.
• Review and ensure the quality of deliverables (drawings, ISOs) from junior designers and drafters.
• Perform clash detection using Navisworks Manage or AutoCAD Plant 3D's built-in tools to resolve interferences between piping and other disciplines (e.g., structural steel, electrical trays).
• Coordinate with civil/structural, mechanical, and electrical teams to resolve interface issues proactively.
• Lead or assist 3D model review sessions (30%, 60%, 90%) with stakeholders, clients, and discipline leads.
• Communicates and interface with other project design and engineering disciplines.
• Guide and mentor piping designers and drafters on modeling techniques, and Plant 3D functionality as required.
• Must have basic knowledge and understanding of general technical terms and conditions.
• Awareness of compliance and audit processes.
• Ability to identify changes and improvements to the technical documentation and procedures to reflect Client's changing requirements.
• Basic knowledge of computer based systems including, CAD, Database Management systems, Microsoft Office or equivalent software packages.
• Be proactive, a self-starter and ability to work under Senior engineer supervision.
• Systematic thinker and shall have good time management to complete the assigned tasks.
• Strong personality with ability to be firm and persuasive without authority.
• Team player within and across functions.
• Sensitive to Client's requirements and Client-focused under Senior Engineer Supervision.
Education: Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or related field of engineering is a minimum requirement. Master degree preferred
Language skills: English and Russian are mandatory. Kazakh is advantageous.
